I wouldn't melt down a jar of candle wax I'm no longer using to make a plaque for you, weirdo. what is your column about except u?
Bill Cope is really quite a five year old. If the amount of negative response is so great that he feels he has to write a column addressing it, you would think he would respond in an adult form, as in "Listen, I know we don't all share the same opinions, but my job is to narrate from MY point of view, not the republicans. I'll try to be a little less juvenile in the future, but i'll continue to write from my seat in the rhetoric. K?'"
But no, instead it's stick his fingers in his ears and scream LALALALALA!!!
" If you have objections to being called stupid, quit being stupid"
Holy crap. Really?
*sigh* there's really not much to say. I kind of meant to poke fun at you, but I think you're doing a pretty bang-up job yourself.
and, just a quick observation to the comment you made, " Nothing like a sexually repressed critic, is there?", umm well bike boy isn't the one drawing cartoon people having sex, soo... Just a thought.
haha! i don't know what i used to do without the internet... :)
Perhaps I mis or over-stated my previous point.
I really just wanted to convey my feeling that, as per the two opposing correspondents who represent the opposite sides of the political demographic, Tedd Rall speaks his mind fluently and without delivering low-blows to the opposing side, which is respectable, while Bill Cope feels the need to feed his insatiable beast of an ego by purposely inciting anger in the more conservative readers. Rall speaks his mind, but isn't rude about it, Cope runs his mouth, which is different, and involves long irritating sessions largely made up from him counter- interposing irrelevant personal narratives instead of making a point.
I'm not saying it's not entertaining. It is! And it sparks interesting debates like this one that we are having. I just think that pseudo-personal bull like this doesn't make for a fair sizing up of a political forecast. I'd rather hear a reasonably well-informed commentary on either side than a bitter recounting of a bad night at the bar. I think this publication deserves a better class of journalism, which Tedd Rall seems to represent more than Cope. In my opinion.
I don't agree with absolutely everything that Rall has to say, but I respect him a great deal more than Cope because of HOW he SAYS it.
Politics is a spiderweb, katcreat, and I'm not saying Cope is the spider or you the proverbial fly, I'm simply suggesting that you not blindly adhere to all the advice he puts out there. Don't knock Rall just cuz he's a republican. I'm not trying to knock Cope just cuz he's a democrat, more because he just seems to be an ass.
And anyone who's seen Rall's comics knows he's no Van Gogh, so why the unnecessary jab at the end of your post there? I know you're into graphic arts and stuff, so you probably pay attention to stuff like that, but you're clearly no great writer, just as he's clearly no great artist!
wow bikeboy... pretty lame going off on a guy like that, especially one who is a marine and has probably done more for his country than buy foreign built bikes... also when he wasn't inflammatory at all, just stating his opinion. Just so u know, bike boy, I share your opinions on this particular issue, but no need to be rude about it when no one's been rude to you...
Cope, I think you really are a great writer, despite the content. Your narratives run seamlessly and are always entertaining. Good job! That being said, I can't imagine that a person with an ego such as yours would be one to listen patiently to another's differing views, especially over cups. I think you are more concerned with being right than solving any real problems. If classless people are an irritant to you, well, pot meet kettle anyone? I would suggest you take a cue from your more conservative counterpart, Ted Rall, who is able to rationally state and examine facts, even though he seems to have considerably less space for his column than you. Why is that anyway? Is it because you whined to the editors for more word space (you know what they say about guys with big columns, they're compensating for something) or is it just because Ted Rall requires less space to complete a succinct thought?
And when, while I'm at it, did this column become all about you and hardly at all about the political weather/issues?
By the way, I think it's hilarious that there's an ad for Ann Coulters column right below yours. Funny, huh? haha!
