Time for new blood. I tired of these propped-up, over-the-hill TV darlings years ago.
I dunno. BW, although I'm sure your intent is to raise awareness of political issues(?) in the area, in a similar vein as the Berkely Gazette or the Bay Guardian did in the late '60's in NoCal, having been there I feel that your glitzy website and overt pandering to sponsers rather distracts from your intent. Tone it down with the sponsors and webmasters and accentuate the message and you will, thereby, be creating more awareness.
Gee, if I liked to use meth to fill that 'black hole' inside of me, and didn't yet look like one of the "meth poster children", then by the addict's rationale, I would say to myself, "Man, I gotta long way to go before I get there! That'll never happen to me!", thereby allowing myself to continue useage. I used meth for thirty years until I was 48 years old. I was able to control my use, keep a job and a family for awhile and never resembled the "meth kids" much. My point being, that the war on meth is being fought with the same tired outdated tactics as, say, showing a 60 yr old smokers lung on a billboard, thinking that it will prevent young people from starting smoking. It's a veiled threat and young people simply don't respond to that. I didn't. If our representatives truly want to help, then they need to look at the root causes of the 'black holes' in people, not just illustrate the results. It's like ignoring a pile of poop in the middle of your living room and cursing the flies.
