"Case in point: our fellow alt-weekly, Willamette Week, in Portland, Ore., whose reporting on influence peddling in the office of Gov. John Kitzhaber led to his resignation earlier this month."
An investigative report on deals cut (IEN, CIA, others?) by Idaho's governor might provide a similar public service. Clem would just as soon hand over the reins to Brad so he can run as an incumbent; might as well speed up the process.
Idaho elk numbers have actually increased since wolves were reintroduced, but they have moved. Hunters, esp. outfitters, want to go back to the same places for "their" elk & don't appreciate it when they've moved on due to predator pressure.
In junior high 60-or-so years back, see-through blouses were very popular among girls in NE Ohio, and they were never an issue. Personally, I didn't find girls' under garments very attractive.
In this photo, I cannot see bra straps; nor are undergarments visible. Perhaps the lack of "proper" Garments is the underlying issue here.
Dan's interpretation of Bear Lake School District #33's dress code policy that "Any clothing that is see through and reveals ... skin where underwear is typically worn is not acceptable" may be correct. But to to cite the back of the shoulders of a 13-year-old as a place "where underwear is typically worn" betrays a certain religious prejudice to my mind.
By hook or by crook, ACHD must be reoriented—hopefully, in November—or disbanded—virtually impossible under current law.
frankr: You obviously do not know Ms. Jordan. She does not need Dave Bieter to tell her what to do. She is city council president, where Mr. Bieter is a tie-breaker. The fact that the mayor and council see eye-to-eye on a lot of matters, may have something to do with their being elected by the same Boise voters.
I'm sorry I missed Claire Watkins; I was out of town. I knew her dad, Paul, very well.
I spent many hours talking with him about Charlie Manson and the "Family" and a couple years living and traveling with Desert Sun, his group in Tecopa, California.
It saddens me that Claire is usually asked about her father as Charlie's "procurer." Actually, Paul Watkins played a much more important role. While he did not participate in the gruesome LA murders, he and Brooks Poston, both of whom had been deprogrammed with the help of a wise Death Valley gold prospector named Paul Crockett, were key witnesses for the prosecution who deserve primary credit for Manson and those who actually carried out the murders being where they are today.
For a history of how the public lands got to be public (and not the private domain the likes of Mr. Bundy claim):
