Re: “Magnum Force Fetish

I must apologize "bikeboy" you are correct. The AK 47 takes a 7.62x39 which is only accurate up to say 200 yards. The 100 round clip I am referring to in .223 is for the M16/AR15 that is accurate up to 800 yards.

What people decide to do with their bodies is up to them. For all these religious nuts who are trying to enforce their morals and values on others STOP! If you really believe in all that stuff then you should be content knowing they will have to answer to whomever when their time comes, not to some religious person who has nothing better to do than overstep into others personal lives.

As far as the guns go, yes there should be large limitations on guns and magazines. Why? Because there is no reason for civilians to own such guns and accessories. Some might feel safe knowing their neighbor has an M16 (thank you BikeBoy) with multiple 100 round clips loaded and ready for when North Korea lands on the beaches of Oregon and Washington. I however feel completely unsafe because when N. Korea doesn't invade but his wife leaves him and he pulls those guns out in a drunken rage or when Obama says we need to limit gun sales and he feels the need to prove otherwise at the state capitol, there is a much higher potential for a massacre.

Tony C, I would refrain from bringing abortion into this discussion as it does not pertain. Planned Parenthood does a lot more than just abortions, maybe you should look into what they offer and realize it is a great program for young adults and those trying to become pregnant. As far as the rest of the discussion this is to all you "gun deviants": I hope that you have good aim because when you unload you semi-auto 9mm Glock with 33 rounds into a crowd trying to kill a crazed gunman, you will be no different when you strike and kill 2 in your attempt for glory. I was recently at Shot Show in Las Vegas, where I was shown that exact 33 round clip for a hand gun and a 100 rounds clip for .223 Rem. (Ak 47) This is excessive and beyond self defense.

Re: “City Council to Consider Study for New Field of Dreams

Do we really need to spend $24,000 just to find a good spot to put a new park?

Re: “Local Reaction to Prop 8 Ruling

admriker444- Is that why the MPAA that rates movies for America has two religious leaders on the board. They allow more violent films as rated R than those with sexual content. In other words they are promoting violence and not sex. More films have received a NC-17 rating based on sexual content both straight and gay than violent films depicting but limited to murder, rape, genocide, hate crimes, extreme violence, drugs and alcohol. This is opposite of Europe where sex is seen as a normal activity and should be promoted as such in films and violence especially violence against woman has a much higher chance of getting their version of a NC-17 rating.
So one cannot say that films are trying to devalue "the family". And media is media, maybe if you did not listen to Fox or read US magazine and went to sources such as The Boise Weekly or NPR, it might not be as biased or un-important.

Re: “Local Reaction to Prop 8 Ruling

Keep your religion to yourself. Christians were not the first to inhabit this Earth. We are talking about the real world here where all are created equal. If you do believe in 'God" then you should also believe that "he" gave us free will. Not, free will but I will punish you if you don't follow what I say. I would say that the gay and lesbian community in Boise is awesome and very friendly and accepting, I hope to see more in the future when they are not crucified for their LOVE.
