Ooo! Instead of downtown, why don't they locate up here on the Bench, or somewhere in the southwest part of town? There are LOTS of us who'd LOVE to buy from them, but LOATHE going downtown- space would be cheaper, too! Example: the parking lot of the new D&B that's going in on Overland, or how's about in the space that Honk's is vacating at the Hillcrest strip mall, near the Library! branch? They'd get foot traffic, there's ample parking... (Crossing fingers and wishing really, really hard...) Downtown, despite what some folks think, is NOT all of Boise.
I wish them luck. I write stuff to Sen. Crapo all of the time, and I will give him this: I do get replies. However, the tone of them often seems to be, "There, there, little missy- I know what's right, you'll just have to live with. Write to me anytime." My husband laughs at me as I hiss in dismay, every time that I receive one...as if I should KNOW better than to believe that anything is going to change in Idaho politics!
Wow. Looks like a really upstanding guy. Not, like, a tweaker or anything! LOL
Sadly, this doesn't surprise me. I am a white female with very short hair, and I often wear "unisex" clothing. Most of the time, when I go out in public, I have my kids with me, but one Saturday a couple of months ago, I went grocery shopping by myself, in my usual jeans, t-shirt, and baggy sweatshirt. A man harrassed me, repeatedly calling me "buddy", "sir", and "mister", along with some other things I won't repeat, while I was trying to select products off of a shelf. The high-pitched tone of voice couldn't have indicated to him that I was male. My husband was outraged when I told him about it later- he said I should have contacted the store's customer service, but I was afraid that the guy would come after me, outside of the store. And I know that this guy wouldn't have harrassed me, if I'd have had my boys with me, or if I'd been wearing more feminine clothes and makeup. They target people who are vulnerable for a reason. It scared the hell out of me- I can't imagine how much worse it was to be in Annie or Mark's shoes.
What an utter and total crock of....
Really? Seriously? I'm with Senator Werk on this one. This is unconscionable. Time to vote the bulk of the incumbents OUT.
Greatly relieved to hear that common sense is starting to prevail. However, I hope that folks remember all of this, when Election Day rolls around again. We need to get some fresh blood into our Legislature.
It's time to stop voting on party lines, period, and I think it's great that this guy's stepping up. Idaho needs to stop voting one party or the other in such a default fashion- we can bitch and moan about how things are, but unless we shake it up a bit, and get some different (read: NOT INCUMBENT) points of view rolling into our legislature, we're just going to continue to stagnate. We have to get the entrenched career politicians out of office, and get some fresh air in there. Believe in whatever you want to, but for Pete's sake, get out there and VOTE!
