Farmer at Morning Owl Farm
Oh, 5folds... if only you thought that way about corporations and the banks too. Corporations also want provisions supplied and risk removed. Humans are flawed and [corporations] are run by humans.
Why can't people make the connections between bad big government and bad big business.
I agree. I don't condone the action, but I am keeping things in perspective.
The true vandalism is what is being done to our Constitution and our Civil Liberties.
Thank you Kelsey Montzka for your coherent and intelligent criticisms of the OWS and OB movements. It's the paradox of semi-anonymous internet commenting that sees dumb witless sarcasm envoke more dumb witless sarcasm. As if either one does any good or will win over any hearts and minds. It's my common folly in these forums.
I think the movement is less about blaming the 1% and more about holding them accountable. Although I can see how many might misconstrue that as blame or even envy. But that's just me talking and how I see it.
Thanks again. It will be voices like yours that will push the movement forward.
Oh man, Yonkle made a funny!
I'm really happy to see your concern for the health and safety of the protesters. Because after all, they are indeed braving freezing temperatures not to stand for anything, but to get wealthy. Yep, that's what they're doing. The quality of your argument is so honest and refreshing.
Why are you STILL operating under the assumption that this is solely a communist/socialist movement. Stop listening to right wing pablum! It's so much more than that. We want to hold corporations accountable (accountability hey! That's something you are for!). We want corporations to stop socializing risk (something else you are for!). We want them to clean up their messes (uhum, Gulf Coast for example anyone?). How is that socialism? Are there some at the protests who would be qualified as Marxist? Perhaps. Are there some socialistic elements to the moment? Maybe. But no more than there are facist elements to the Tea Party. So don't you dare paint the entire movement with a red brush. Doing so makes you look petty and sad.
Oh and I love how you say "replace solar and wind with natural gas". Really? You lose all credibility when you say stuff like that. Natural gas accounts for about 20% of power generation in the U.S. Wind accounts for 3%, and less than 1% from solar. So seriously... I don't even know what to say or where to start. I'm speechless, staring into the abyss of your absurdity.
If you think this movement is about establishing communism, then YOU have shit for brains. Or at least listen to, read, and believe people who have shit for brains.
