Sorry I wasn't able to attend the meeting this morning, as personal matters took precedent. I do want to address this group, as well as others, with my formal intent to run for Governor of Idaho.
I am of the unremitting mind that our established government is no longer attached to the will of the people. It has been bought and paid for by special and exclusive interests that are in opposition to the ordenances of public service. Over my 44 years I have seen Idaho become a heaven for despots that feed off the poor conditions of this State's citizens.
I have watched as our educational system has been decimated into a pedantic overwrought system of indoctrination having little to do with teaching critical thinking or providing those needed resources to have a society educated well enough to know when it is being abused.
Far too long I have watched as wealth and opportunity are aggregated to the upper tiers of our diverse community while leaving the Idaho Worker/Producer/Laborer to foot the bill as well as suffer the damage to their quality of life due to the constant abuses of money interests in Government.
Frankly ladies and gentlemen, Idahoans are disinterested in its affairs of government. Voting turn outs at elections are dismal. The candidates presented are poor excuses for public servants at best. Even those well intending have an up hill battle getting anything accomplished due to the constant quagmire of bureaucratic punditry for party line interests. Our Government is a complete and abysmal failure in its current condition of career politics and voter disinterest and acquiescence. This has to change.
I will no longer put the blame on those in government. They are only doing what we the people have allowed them to do, willingly or not. Therefore the real blame must be on you and I for allowing our government to be hijacked and abused in such a way as to leave us all under these poor conditions and under these tyrannical abuses of authority. You and I are the only ones that are responsible for this, and it is time to take back that responsibility. It is time we Idahoans took our own course and not that presented by only those interests that can afford to buy their/our legislators.
I don't take this action lightly as I know that my actions will be met with condemnation by detractors. My family and my name will be under great scrutiny and my past will be out there for all to see. I have less fear of that condemnation from my peers, than I do in a system that seeks to demean my inalienable rights. I can withstand the slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune, but I will not live my life with a knife to my back, held there by my government.
More is to fallow be assured. I have given my deepest thoughts and my sincerest considerations to this undertaking and know that I truly do it altruistically, though I too have my reasons. If I can't help make this a better world for you, a better State for you and yours, then what am I doing here?
I'll tell you what I'm doing here. Like too many of you, I'm trying to get a good paying job that makes a real difference.

Your Candidate for Governor of Idaho in 2014
Here is my advice as we begin the century that will lead to 2081. First, guard the freedom of ideas at all costs. Be alert that dictators have always played on the natural human tendency to blame others and to oversimplify. And don't regard yourself as a guardian of freedom unless you respect and preserve the rights of people you disagree with to free, public, unhampered expression. ~Gerard K. O'Neillin 1981
Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves. ~Abraham Lincoln
Sorry that was a comment I found in the Statesman. Ookmon mentioned my name so I thought I would give him credit here.
If a cop gives you a citation for smoking, deny the charge and request a court date to dispute it. They will have to call in the ticketing officer from off the streets and even if you are found guilty of the infraction the fine is a set fine. If enough people are willing to do this it will overwhelm the courts, take cops of the streets that uphold this "Scoff Law" and will eventually cost the City more to enforce this "scoff law" than it is worth.
I welcome a recall of the current Mayor and City Counsel. (I voted for Hall, he was dead set against this abuse of authority). They obviously have no understanding of "Private Business" or individual rights. We now have an example of taxation without representation. WE smokers are taxed at a very high rate (to offset healthcare costs to the system) and now we are made into second class citizens. (Even though we smokers paid for the State House renovation).
I will violate this ban every chance I get. I will not pay a single fine. I will Dispute Every Ticket and cost the City as much as I can in court costs (that will go unpaid), in removing cops (if only for a time and hopefully while they are being paid overtime) from the streets. Let them try and see if they can make me stop, as I really have nothing to lose in comparison to the City or the tax payer.Hope to see you all in front of City Hall, and bring a pack of smokes.
I just wanted to make mention, I believe I am the only candidate that uses public transit.
You know.... Just saying.
