I don't know who "the left" is supposed to be other than your inept attempt to discredit a valid point by ad hominem attack. Sensible people are saying if you don't want to look like an ignorant racist you probably shouldn't be sporting a racist flag. It doesn't matter what you "believe" that flag means. It was the battle flag of traitors to the union who were fighting for states' rights to have slavery. They lost the war that cost 600,000 lives. At the end of the war they did not respect each other's beliefs. One side was discredited and lost. Unfortunately, because of ignorance we are still fighting the battle to overcome racism 150 years later. Wake up.
H1-B, H2-A, it 's all the same: "Can't find an adequate workforce for the task" translates as "can't find people who will work for such low wages." If the market won't pay enough for lamb and wool to keep you in business then perhaps your business model is wrong.
Lacking any clear numbers, let's just use the broad brush numbers in the quotes: "thousands of jobs" and "$210 million." Let's go with 2000 jobs for that amount of money. That's $100,000 per job. The average family of four lives on about $50,000 a year in Idaho. Those could be some pretty damn nice jobs for $100K a year. Why do they need to be National Guard jobs? Why not infrastructure jobs? Why not technology or medical research? Or education. People need to know more than just how to fly and maintain killer aircraft. No slam on the National Guard, but if it's for our defense say so and say who we are defending against. If it's a jobs program, maybe we could branch out to something that will rebuild our country, not tear down someone else's.
Why waste time reading when ignorance is instantaneous?
Such a dumbass, does someone really need to explain to him that "dogwhistle" politics means the bigotry is supposed to be silent?
Now is the time to get ahead of this goathead problem: learn to recognize the plant and uproot it before the seeds mature. The plants are spreading their vines all over the bike paths and sidewalks, but they are just beginning to flower. If people will pay attention and take a few minutes kill the plants now before they go to seed we can prevent this scourge from taking over the valley.
The funniest part of all this is that the objection to registering guns so often given is that then the gummint knows you have guns and that's the first step toward taking them away.
Well guess what, Dumas, now they know you have guns.
