Papa Smurf, I know people are sent to prison for a reason, and yes offenders lie to you all the time. I do understand how people are taught to take on dangerous professions and defiantly all of you are in one of those professions as well as I am, each day one of you who walk in that door you are at risk of anything, Please don't take my words wrong, but the fact of the matter is that some people get caught and some don't in all things, those who realize they messed up are afraid to say something but when they do some want to send them to the deepest part of hades this is why most don't say anything, those who do confess want the help or have only messed up once and got caught most have remorse and want to help but yet we prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, others get a slap on the wrist and yes I have seen this many times in our justice system and it is sad for many, there are many in the professions that have not got caught but continue to do wrong those are the ones who need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Yes, we all have policy and procedures we must follow, but does anyone ever follow them to the tee no because we are not perfect. I do stand behind all of you because I know not all of you do wrong and if every case was text book we would be perfect in how we handled things. I do have the up most respect for all who are public servants, I do not feel you make enough or your benefits are good enough, each of us have a job to do and we all do it to the best of are ability. I must these cases of public servants doing wrong is growing and it saddens me a great deal some of those who have messed up are still qualified to do the job providing it was an isolated incident, others who have done something continuous need not be in that position again and I do feel that only males be in contact with males and females be in contact with females this is in close contact, and I do know that is not always possible but I feel bad for anyone you gets compromised because it does affect not just one but all. We as public servants are at risk every single day. Again I believe in what all of you do as long as it is just and fair, and yes sometimes I know you have to be extreme in how you handle things, because it is for the greater good of all.
I do have the up most respect for those who who serve society. Yes I do know what happens in a prison and yes many of you officers don't go as far as some, but sometimes a mistake does happen and they do have regrets, you yourself may not have done something as wrong or even crossed a line. Yes it does tarnish things just like it does in every profession, but you do need to realize that people make mistakes in life in every profession, but do some continue no and others abuse it some want the help and well frankly others do not. I have seen somethings that happen in the prison system not just here in Idaho but other states, so don't feel as if you have been singled out as far as prisons life is not always fair, but if we all learn from others mistakes then maybe someday. You can not say you have never made a mistake and not had a regret, and yes some do not feel regret for what they have done. Women as well as Men have done this and it has destroyed many lives and hurt many people. Yes, we are human and screw up. No I have no hurt feelings or anything like that Besty Cox, I do understand were you are coming from, but if you want to be angry with things then also look at the other things that happen behind the walls that you work and the c-notes of those who have not reported correctly how the incident happened, people have different perceptions of everything, everyone has someone they like better then the other, that is why life takes its own turn. When an inmate comes to an officer and reports something can you always protect no were you just as angry with what happened at the private prison when the officers allowed the beatings that happened. The answer to your question I would love to be able to come to your prison and be there and work those people are there for a reason and you have to be strong minded to work in there and all of you have my respect, a repeat offender out here gets a lot of time compared to a first time offender and if a prosecutor does not like you they make it personal you see these things all the time, I can only hope and pray that all the ill feelings some of you have that you may never be faced with similar situations most people who have harsh feelings end up facing something down the road whether it be them self or family some are willing to make a change and others are not. Just keep in mind that not all people are the same we all have skeletons some not as bad as others. There is not one person here on earth that is without sin.
Yes this is bad, but all is not on fault of the officers maybe you should rethink policies, such as have males being cared for by males and females being cared for by females, most generally these men and women do no not plan on things happening like that. Maybe you should think twice about how you compromise your employees, not just for these incidents but look at the other stuff that goes on behind your walls, the drugs alcohol, and other contraband that is there and when officers turn their heads and people get hurt or even killed what about their families. There is not even one of you that works there that have not done something wrong it is can you live with yourself ok do you have regrets some do some don't I know for a fact one young man does have regrets and my heart goes out to him maybe you should listen to what he has to say and what he is willing to do.
