Unfortunately, I was surprisingly wrong. She deserves everything see gets gor here actions.
Gov. Otter.... When are you going to clean up your mess. You appointed the director... It's time to clean house. How many more juvenile and staff have to be hurt before you do something. Staff tried to bring issues to the attention of the director and administration. Unfortunately, they had their own agenda to prove.
She is just the scapegoat for IDJC. There have been others who crimes has just be swept under the rug. Poor Miss McCormick. The department is basing there allegation on the words of a very deceptive juvenile. The focus of the issues need to be on the department, director, superintendent and supervision who have done their part in sweeping things under the rug hoping they will never be seen.
Do you honestly believe that the Director and Superintendent will admit they are wrong and their decisions are directly responsible for the number of assaults that have occurred at the Juvenile Corrections Center in Nampa. Most of the assaults would not have occurred if the consequences were the same they were before the Director was appointed by Governor Otter. As soon as her "Club Med Philosophy" was put into place, juveniles were safer.
The department has been told by staff for the past 2 years that their present "new philosophy" has created an unsafe environment for both juveniles and staff. It was researched by staff that between November 2011 and March 2012 there were more than 34 documented assaults upon juveniles, many by juveniles who was placed in their rooms for only 3-4 hours, only to be let out to commit a crime of felony assault once, twice again. Well behaved juveniles who were assaulted were actually moved back to county detention centers where they have said they are locked down more often and the food is not as good as it is at JCCN. One juveniles assaulted 7 times in 7 weeks. After about the 8-9th assault, he (18 years of age) was finally sent to County Jail.
Also within the IDJC, it is not "what you know, but who you know" that gets you the job or the promotion. One staff member received the opportunity to becomes a supervisor, although she had no experience or education. She only received this position, because she was favored by her supervisor who was also friends with the director... cronyism at it's best.
Staff have reported Incident Reports (IR) that have been deleted/removed from records. These IRs are significant to prove the intensity of how volatile JCCN has become.
It is our hope that the employee, the juveniles and their families, as well as the tax payers wins in this lawsuit.
In doing so, it would be hoped that Director Harrigfeld resigns, Superintendent Grimm retires and enjoys her life, Mrs. Roters either resigns or goes back to being the staff member she was before she took the "cronyism offer" to become a supervisor she was not qualified to become... at least presently. It would also be hoped that policies return to what they were before where both staff and juveniles worked and lived in a safer environment. It would also be our hope that Mr. Knoff be allowed to return to his supervisor position. He was fired, ultimately by the Director out of retaliation. Mr. Knoff played a roll in exposing two of the director's friends who were allowed to quietly retired without consequences... costing the tax payer a lot of money due to padded time sheets and irresponsible spending.
Finally, it would be encouraged that IDJC and JCCN be thoroughly investigated for the irresponsibility of spending tax payers money.
