Re: “Foodies and Farmers Wage War Against Tasteless Tomatoes

I sooo support this. We grow our own, and vigorously try to make it last longer into the fall. The store tomatoes are just tasteless. Is there a way to get great tomatoes from another source?

Re: “'Life Without God' Billboards Pop Up in Treasure Valley

Hmm. I support personal choices. And, it is strange to see so many fight so hard not to believe, or to believe, in a Being that mathematically organized a universe so vast, it is impossible to know the dimensions, or what is beyond, or if there is an end. There are no answers because it is beyond our comprehension. Or even see how diverse the wildlife, vegetation, and insects are on one planet. If there was a "big bang", why was this planet the only one among billions, well at least as far as we have been able to see? It just doesn't make sense. So, in my mind, there has to be a project manager. I don't get frustrated at churches...those are people's choices. Just as it is mine not to attend. I don't care about billboards, they will not affect my children, if I have done my job and instill what I want my children to learn. Don't be worried about billboards, they have never made someone go out and do something rash. If questions are asked, answer with the knowledge that there are people who choose to not believe, or to believe something different. And, NOT that they are going to hell. That is against the way God wants people to see Him. Quoting scripture is done to support your own beliefs. It is our actions that make a difference; if you want someone to see God in your life, and the positive differences that have been made. There are many different religions with the basic belief of a Divine presence which consistently the same bottom line: Love God, and be good to each other. Attacking beliefs, or nonbeliefs, is against that idea. I have no intention of trying to sway people to the way I believe. Your beliefs give you grounds to build your own community/church/or any type of grouping that helps with your identity and sense of belonging. I hope that America still gives all of us the right to make these choices without harrassment. If I want to put a religious sign on a hill...so what? How does it hurt? If it were many signs...Star of David, and others, it would still not burn my eyes or affect my soul. Why not support each other in belief, or non-belief. More can be said about how we treat others and how we live our lives. There is more freedom in accepting people where they are, then trying to fight their beliefs or nonbeliefs. If people are interested in what I believe, or not believe, they can ask me questions and have a friendly talk, not belittling or disrespectful. I am not apathetic, I have my beliefs, but what I have learned to understand is we need to accept people just where they are.
