36" cube will fit a bike wheel on a post with a memorial plaque. Issue is to continue public awareness of bicycle safety. I remember when Mike Johnson put the crosses on Hwy. 21 to Idaho City for a similar purpose in the 80's.
I (Patrick McKeegan) am the architect for the project. Chris Holladay at AHJ Engineers did the structural design, DC Engineers did the mechanical and electrical. For some reason the planning and design team never gets mentioned. Complex fun project, Ryan did an excellent job of coordinating all the pieces. Glad you show the old painted bulilding signs on the adjacent structure were preserved, one of my favorite features.
Longer, more informed article at the Statesman. Dog as not "running loose" it was on heel off leash with the owner, who had it by the collar trying to get it out of the way when she realized the bike was out of control. Excessive speed was a factor according to eye witnesses and forensic info at the crash site. The guy was going fast enough that the dog owner thought it was a hit and run, did not realized the bike crashed on down the street and just attended to getting her animal to the Vet.
I thought the VOTERS rejected the levy. If they will not support additional funding at the local level, how can you expect they will support additional taxes. It's the "I've got mine screw you" and "I did ok without an education, so can you" mentality. I agree changes are needed in the Governor's office and legislature, but the VOTERS get the government they elect. I think they should keep the physical ed CLASSES and kill any funding for extra curricular sports, let the participants fund that.
Before anyone panics "locked" means no access from the outside. All emergency exit are required to be operable at all times from the inside. Doesn't stop an accomplice inside from letting some one in or defeating the latch.
I hope the figure out how to get them to accept the City parking cards, not just credit cards. I better start saving my quarters if they don't.
No parking and do not eat the organic peanut butter....
