Love to live life!
As a child, it was my dream to have a lakeside home and dock on Payette Lake. Not any more. Greed killed it... the child has grown.
We all want to enjoy God's Idaho. It's one of his favorite areas... just ask a Chinook Salmon. He didn't create it to support greed. If lawmakers REALLY want to cover costs and do good budgeting, they need to get rid of the private prisons. In fact, the private prison owners should be highly taxed on THEIR property... 3% of Idaho's male population.
We'd have millions coming back to government... and a cross-section of our workforce to generate new ideas and labor, as well. #TheTimeDoesn'tFitTheCrime (and someone is making billions from it). I think the lawmakers should rather have looked into other areas of revenue and cost such as this before taking away people's dreams.
You were once in one.
Finally, the world has given students in a very tough world a harmless forum to vent frustrations with the hidden realities they deal with... and some resource cop wants to silence them? Shameful. Understanding that credibility could be a factor, the forum should be left up, and promoted... trying to "just make it go away" sounds like something Larry Craig would've pulled.
I salute the students of Borah High for voicing their anonymous frustrations in a public forum. Their civil right of Free Speech should be ENCOURAGED, not stymied, unless the school district wants to exude the abomination of hypocrisy. Not a good thing to teach by example.
WOW... just, WoW.
Unpopular topic, yet could be the final whistle-blower:
Why are we incarcerating so many people for ridiculous lengthy sentences? (Hint: to create jobs for private prisons.)
Another: What are we proposing spending millions on, initially and (ongoing) annually in this legislative session to address mental health care? (Hint: Building a 529-bed private prison, and calling it a mental health facility.)
You have your assignment. Now git 'er done. :)
