As the saying goes, "it's a two-way street" (no pun intended). BOTH bicyclists and motor vehicle drivers have been at fault for one thing or another. I recently saw a bicyclist, who SHOULD be abiding by the same laws at traffic lights as motor vehicle drivers, actually go THROUGH the red light as if he owned it, while I had to sit and wait for the light to turn green (what gives him that right?). I have also had other drivers cut me off or, as was the case last night as I was driving the Intestate, tailgate me so close that he would have slammed into me if I had to brake for any reason.
We have all made mistakes, including me. The thing is to learn from those mistakes, be more cognizant of your surroundings, be safe and wear reflectors on your clothes and bikes, and most importantly, show some respect.
Really? Basing criteria on sales data of romance novels and relationship books? Hogwash. Books don't even count! What counts are walking hand in hand with your loved one along Boise's Greenbelt, fishing along the shores of the Boise River, and enjoying fine wine and dining at posh restaurants in historic downtown Boise. That's what counts!
