Re: “The Hidden Costs of Civil Sidewalks

First Amendment trumps freedom of unobstructed travel because there is no right to unobstructed travel. There is a right to freedom of travel, but nothing about unobstructed.

Otherwise I would be very wealthy considering how my being in a wheelchair means that my 'right to unobstructed travel' is violated pretty much any time I leave my home.

A person has a right to come up to you and make a request. They do not have a right to assault you, physically block you, or anything else of the sort. That would range in offense from harassment to assault or higher crimes.

So long as the just make the request and accept your answer your rights have not been violated.

Re: “UPDATE: Medical Marijuana Advocate Goes Public After Children Are Taken, Placed Into Foster Care

Russ -

I do understand where you are coming from. Now try to see where *I* am coming from.

I am an activist, have been for decades. However as a parent I would never choose my activism over what is best for my children. I know how Gestapo CPS works, was fraudulently attacked by them myself. I would NEVER make a choice that put my children or my family in danger.

It is, of course, her choice to remain in Idaho, but unfortunately the events that transpired could easily have been foreseen. I do not challenge their right to protest and to use what works for her... I only question the wisdom of their choice. There are lots of others who can advocate who do not have children the state can use against you as a weapon.

I hope for the best for her and her family, but honestly, if you pick up a hammer and intentionally whack your hand with it, it is not entirely reasonable to blame the hammer or be surprised by the pain. You should have anticipated what was to come, just like here.

And, honestly, if a distance of fifty miles ends a friendship they were really not friends worth having in the first place.

Isn't it currently closer to 18 states and DC have legalized medical cannabis?

I think you might be surprised how many actual rocket scientists use cannabis, legal or not.

Gestapo CPS will take any kids they think they can get away with. Regardless of state. That they can use the kids as weapons against cannabis activists is just a bonus to them.

Agreed, using cannabis, even medically, in such a backwards state as Idaho that is clearly hostile to cannabis use was not a wise move. Even less wise with kids in the home that can be used as weapons (as they have been) against them.

But that said, Marinol is garbage. Also a question for you... does a treatment only start to work after these studies you claim are needed, or did it work all along and the studies just confirm it? Take your time. Think the question through before answering.

I find that for MS folks cannabis is quite effective. So here is a challenge for you. Can you produce even a single credibly documented case of death due to cannabis use (overdose)? It would be interesting to see what you come up with.

The products you list from Big Pharma do not always work as well as desired, and they all have nasty side effects, including possible DEATH. Every one of those drugs has proven toxic. That is why I, for one, try to use the products of Big Pharma as little as I can personally. I have two forms of arthritis and get around in a powered wheelchair because of it. I was on heavy doses of methadone and oxycodone before discovering the effectiveness of cannabis with my pain and other medical issues. Would I have used cannabis if it were not legal medically in my state (Oregon)? Not a chance. The greatest potential harm for cannabis use is the adverse effects upon your liberty. I would have moved across the border to Oregon or Washington or Nevada. I would say Montana but that state keeps jerking everyone around.

What you are personally aware of and a buck will get you a dollar cup of coffee. Treatments work only if YOU say so? Who the F are you?

And there is no legal requirement for her to 'try them all'. This is her life, not a damn game of Pokemon for crying out loud. Who are you to dictate what is 'adequate' for anyone but yourself. From your claim you are part of the 'Sick Care System) and do not want to see your job go away. I can see that and understand your fear. That does not excuse your being such a jerk about it.

Are you aware what a colossal asshat you come across as? You should be.

The law in Idaho is certainly hostile to Medical cannabis, and cannabis in general. Didn't they recently pass a law saying cannabis would remain illegal in Idaho even if the feds legalize it?

And you thought that was a great place to use cannabis medically? With minors in the house that Gestapo CPS could use as weapons against you (as they clearly have)?

I support her medical use, and would support her recreational use. I know that there is zero risk of harm from her cannabis use to the kids.

But that is not how Gestapo CPS and prohibitionists see things.

I praise their advocacy... I question the wisdom of their choice to do so in such a backwards asspit like Idaho.

The ones most harmed by this Gestapo CPS action will be the kids. Typical.
