I love the lanes but have run into so much opposition from friends and colleagues because it has been confusing. The ACHD put no effort into informing motorists how to interact with the bike lanes. The same topic that this article also ignores. All we got from the media was that they were coming, which is useless.
And their survey is baloney. You can check every single box, take it multiple time, and there is no option for public comment. I have also emailed them, only to receive a disguised form letter back that did not address the point of my email and also did not explain anything concrete in the email.
I hope they keep the lanes but I worry that they will fail just because of the ACHD's poor communication beforehand. That's just not fair. I want to keep my biker friends safe, and these lanes will help immensely.
