Re: “Local Heroes 2006

Nick, I beg your pardon, but I worked at BW for the 1st local heroes issue in '96, and I STILL am a contributing writer today (Bill Cope was also on payroll then as well). So you stand corrected that no one on staff had begged for a job yet... although I am technically not a staffer I suppose... just a lowly free-lancer. But I WAS a staffer in '96! But I digress. I'm VERY glad to see this article - good work and thanks for a nice blast from the past to remind me of what a great paper BW is to work at. RACHEL ABRAHAMSON, long time BW gal.

Re: “One Party's Better

Bill Cope, god love him in all his democratic propeganda and misguided ramblings about Andy... sure, you were spot on about some things - Andy & Debi are some of the nicest people around. And why, oh why, shouldn't we vote for that? They can be idealistic, they might be hopeful for change. Why should they be faulted for that? truly, aren't you tired of the folks out there beating the same damned dead horse? I WAS!!! That's why I switched to the United Party with Andy! Why should Andy be faulted for bringing good ideas and common sense out in the open? he is challenging voters to think outside the 2 party box, and THAT is always a good thing! GO ANDY!!! I'm proud to know him and proud that he's doing something about his convictions, instead of just writing some short-sighted ramblings spouting the holiness of the democratic party. WOW, do you need new glasses, Bill!!!

Re: “It's Party Time

Duh, they DID write of Andy's background with the paper - "...quirky candidacy of BW's former publisher, Andy Hedden-Nicely." You can take all that time to post a comment about him but not read the article thoroughly? Former publisher, FOUNDER, previous owner, whatever you want to call him - it's Andy - he's running for Congress, AND he's a great guy!!! I can't believe that all you had to say about that article was that they didn't point out he used to own the paper too. Seems to me there was a lot meatier, far more worthy tidbits warranting remarks! Like, how republicans would rather see Hillary Clinton as president than Bill Sali as congressman. WOW - let's get some republicans of that mind and get them to vote for Andy!!! Also - Chuck Malloy says Andy has no luster... WHAAAAT? Has he MET ANDY??? Andy has LUSTER IN SPADES!!! What he doesn't have is the money the republicans have. He's not BUYING his seat in Congress, he's out there being honest, working hard and listening to the people of this great state. Let's send Andy to Congress, People!!! VOTE FOR CHANGE!!!
