Hey! I resemble that title of the article!
Speaking of religion -- I'm really looking forward to this year's April Fools week edition of BW. Last year, BW made fun of the LDS church to show how "hip", "with-it", and "edgy" BW is. This year, I assume BW will continue showing how "hip" they are by going after a religion that actually does currently allow polygamy -- that's right, Islam. Maybe they'll even throw in a couple of caricatures of Muhammad (pbuh) to confirm just how "cool" BW is.
That is, unless BW only makes fun of religions where they know the adherents won't hurt them.
If by "ripping off" you mean "forwarding additional information to people who got an E-mail from a campaign with a staffer who doesn't know how to use the bcc: function", then it still doesn't make it a story worth even thinking about.
So why no category for "Best Blog"?
You should do a story about Boise area milblogs. Both of them.
I so enjoy your most excellent newspaper -- I'm especially looking forward to next April Fool's Day, when I'm sure you'll run a "bold" and "edgy" piece making fun of Muslims, like you did of Mormons this year; maybe you'll even run a caricature of Mohammed (pbuh) to prove how you aren't afraid to publish funny stories about any religion.
Anyway, I was wondering if you noticed any similarities between the letter from James Chambureau in this week's letters and an amazingly similar letter published last month by Noam Chomsky, Gore Vidal, and other progressives luminaries, found here: http://www.chomsky.info/2006_07_01_archive.htm#115350344072235040. It appears those people stole Chambureau's ideas, probably using a Rovian time machine to do so. They're clearly under the control of Rovian Mind Control Rays. I'm sure it wasn't that you just inadvertantly published a letter plagiarizing that letter without attribution. It had to have been a Rovian plot.
P.S. Why don't you ever mention my blog, The Stupid Shall Be Punished (http://bubbleheads.blogspot.com)? It's the second-most-popular blog in the Boise area (by traffic). It hurts my feelings that you don't reach out to the right-leaning area blogs. Or do you just not "do" the blogosphere?
