How many pounds did you pack on in Texas? Food in Charleston was out of control and I swear I gained six pounds in four days. They have great restaurants and lots of local creations. I tired She Crab Soup, Shrimp & Grits, and Monk Fish sashimi to name a few. I think my favorite restaurant was FIG. I am stuffed too.
Growing up as a kid with Spina Bifida I got enemas 2-4 times a week and I hated it. Put my parents and health care people through hell. Obviously a problem child :-) Now as an adult I know if I didn't use them there would serious health consequences and wish I would have not been so difficult as a child. I guess it is just a matter of perspective.

Ummmmmm, yeah. I had wayyyyyy too many enemas growing up in the late '70's and early '80's. My mother kept the bag hanging on the back of the bathroom door and never seemed to let it go unused. I used to get teased about it when my friends would use the bathroom, I always said it was for my brother!! (Well, it was for him as well as me, so I wasn't lying!)

Today I find myself getting "bunched up" quite a bit especially after my second one was born. Now I keep the bag in the bathroom and use it from time to time, but it's for me only, not my kids!! I don't think I would use an enema on one of my kids unless the ped told me to. And even then I would be hesitant.

Several of my friends had "childhood enemas" and still use them frequently. Yes, we have discussed this!

I don't think we need drugs in jet engine aerosols, but vitamin D supplements can help somewhat even if only to keep the immune system strong while dealing with the other biochemical aspects of SAD. I don't like the rain which lingers here in Portland much of the year, but I make the most of my seasonal opportunity to hibernate. Hang in there. Brain chemistry altering pharmaceuticals can cause lasting problems, but at least winter goes away every year.
The hardest part about hoarding, or any other addiction, is coming to grips with why there is placement of value on things from an emotional side. I mean yes there are times that we might need to keep something around because we will need it for an upcoming project, but in hoarding cases, if you can just get to the point of being able to ask yourself 'what value is this adding to me right now'; 'how long have I had it?'; 'when will I realistically use it?'

Most true hoarders will not be able to get past those simple questions and will endup justifying storing crap they don't need. If you get to this point, then I hope a light bulb turns on and you are able to reach out for help.

There are always underlying problems and addictions like hoarding are only a manifestation of those underlying problems. Could be issues with self-worth; emotional abuse; control; etc.

Bingo - since you see some of the same behaviors maybe you should reach out for help now to see if you are headed down that path. A little help now would free you emotionally and save you lots of financial heart-ache in the future if you did turn into a hoarder.
