Last Thursday at Art Source Gallery's First Thursday reception, winners were announced for Art Source Gallery's Fourth Annual Juried Art Exhibition. Just as the name indicates, the entries considered were from around the United States, not just valley- or statewide. The results? The ladies swept it, and one runner-up was even a local. The judging was done by Heather Ferrell, curator at Boise Art Museum, and her choices are as follows: for best of show, the winner was Victoria Goro-Rapoport of Kearney, Nebraska, for her etching entitled "Emigrant." The three runners-up were Karelia Dubkowski of Nampa, Idaho, for her "African Montage," (oil on masonite); Gwen Walstrand of Springfield, Missouri, for her "Untitled: Pins," (carbon pigment print); and Georgia Love of Newhall, California, for her "Sunset and Laveta Terrace," (oil on canvas).
Look in the June 15 issue of BW for a profile of the exhibition.
