Readers who peruse the 8 Days Out calendar may have noticed a relatively new addition to the space: Barfly. Each week, we print one sentence or so, then publish the work in its entirety online.
Barfly was envisioned as a little bit literary, a little bit experiential and a whole lot fluid when we began running it. We want to hear all sorts of bar stories from our readers, in all styles, with all perspectives. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as we like it. And if we like it, we'll print it and give the writer a little something for her trouble. (Examples are available at www.boiseweekly.com--click on the button on the front page, or go to the "Odds and Ends" section of the Web site.)
So keep those cards and letters coming, folks. If you're going to make a drunken fool of yourself, why not get fame and fortune out of it?
