BAM's Heather Ferrell Named New Art Director of Salina Art Center

The Salina Art Center, a nationally recognized and accredited contemporary art museum in Salina, Kansas, has named BAM's Heather Ferrell as executive director.

Ferrell, with a BFA from Utah State University and over nine years of progressive curatorial and administrative experience in art museums and university art galleries, is currently the associate curator of art at Boise Art Museum. She begins her new duties at the Salina Art Center on September 12, succeeding Saralyn Reece Hardy, who is currently director of the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas.

The Salina Art Center is a non-profit art space that presents visual arts experiences to its community. In 2004, the Salina Art Center was the recipient of the prestigious Warhol Initiative grant from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Ferrell's last day at BAM is Friday, August 5.
