Boise Church: Our Nativity's Baby Jesus is Missing

In a 1967 NBC television episode of Dragnet, the iconic police sergeants Friday and Gannon spend their Christmas
Eve investigating the theft of a statue of the baby Jesus from a public nativity scene. It appears that, sadly, life has imitated art.

The Journey, a Boise church on Overland Road, said Dec. 15 that Jesus has gone missing from its Christmas display, dubbed "Journey of Lights."

"Unfortunately it appears that Jesus has grown up and started his Journey of Faith as he is now missing from our manger at the churches (sic) display but the display must go on," wrote a Journey spokesman on its Facebook page. "Praying for a safe Journey for Jesus."

This year's display by The Journey is also soliciting funds for the Women's and Children's Alliance of Boise.
