A Boise elementary school teacher has bonded out of the Ada County Jail after being arrested on felony drug charges. Sarah Cowman, 29, was a second-grade teacher at Hawthorne Elementary in Boise, but was arrested Jan. 20 outside a Fairview Avenue convenience store and charged with delivery of a controlled substance.
Boise police detectives said Cowman helped deliver heroin during an incident in December 2015. She faces a Feb. 10 court hearing at Ada County Court. In the meantime, Boise school officials said a substitute has taken over Cowman's classroom. Boise police said their investigation is ongoing.
