Calling all Pokémon Fanatics

The Idaho Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) State Championship is at 10 a.m. this Saturday, March 19 at Magic Dragon's Games. Pokémon TCG players ages six and up are invited to compete for the title of state champion and the winner will advance to the National Championships and possibly onto the final title series tournament, the Pokémon TCG World Championships.

The state tournament provides the opportunity for participants to succeed at an intellectual sport while testing a player's Pokémon TCG skill strategy and creativity. Competitors are divided into three age categories: 10 and younger, 11 to 14, and 15 and up, and all participants will receive a state championship promo card. Prizes will be awarded to the top eight players in each age category and include Pokémon TCG booster packs and merchandise. First place winners receive a state champion trophy and a travel allowance to attend the national championships this July in Columbus, Ohio.

The event is free and open to the public.
