Gov. Risch: Send Money

Gov's campaign coffers still smarting from 2002 race

Campaign finance reports filed this month held a few surprises: Democrat Jerry Brady is keeping apace with Republican U.S. Rep. Butch Otter in the money race for governor. But the real stunner was a deficit held by current Gov. Jim Risch: in his post-primary report Risch, who is running for his old lieutenant governor slot against Democrat Larry LaRocco, shows a $360,000 debt. Although he's raised $46,888 so far this year, he's still smarting from the 2002 race, said his son Jason Risch. LaRocco has raised $41,407 this year so far, and has a cash balance of $19,419, with outstanding debts of $1,500.
