Grant awarded to the Idaho Botanical Garden

The Idaho Botanical Garden (IBG) is the receipt of a $100,000 grant from the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust to help construct the new Lewis & Clark Native Plant Garden.

This award validates IBG's importance to the community as well as assisting IBG financially in constructing the new garden site. The native plant garden, covering about 2.5 acres of property contained within the boundaries of the IBG, will feature approximately 180 different plant varieties which Meriwether Lewis recorded in his journals.

The $100,000 grant is contingent upon a 1 to 1 match. Donations in any amount will be greatly appreciated in striving to meet this goal. For further information, please contact Judy Ouderkirk, executive director of the Idaho Botanical Garden, at 343-8649.
