Guest Lecturer David "Sonny" Lacks
Thu., Nov. 3, 7 p.m. 2011
The son of Henrietta Lacks, his mother's cells were used in some the biggest medical breakthroughs of the 20th century and continue to be used today. And they were taken without her permission. Lacks will offer a first-person perspective on the collision between ethics, race, and the commercialization of human tissue, and how the experience changed the Lacks family forever. Part of the 2011-2012 Boise State University Campus Read: "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks."
