I can lick any sonofabitch in the house. Well, I can, but this isn't about my ass-kicking prowess. This is about the band I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House, touring about in support of their latest release, Live At Dante's.
Live At Dante's is a raucous, rock album which, if you know ICLASitH, is no surprise. What makes it extra special is all the surrounding noise. Real people really whooping and hollering and dropping real things on the floor. When ICLASitH pulls out the big guns on songs like "American Fuck Machine," it's easy to forget where you are (especially dangerous if you're operating heavy machinery) and get caught up in the rhythm and ambiance of the song.
I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch has come roaring into Boise more than once. Like a '68 Nova SS, they squeal in, make a bunch of noise and leave a cloud of dust in their wake. According to their Web site (www.icanlickanysob.com), their stop in Boise is the last before some shows back home (in Portland) in a tour that has taken them from Oregon to Virginia to Texas to Idaho and most points in between just since February. They're either going to be exhausted and we'll see a quieter, gentler ICLASitH or they're going to make it's one hell of a end-of-tour blow-out. Let's hope for the latter.
