Sometimes it takes a very special car crash to remind us how much we miss an old Saturday Night Live skit. Like last week, when 23-year-old Lindsie M. Murray of Boise rocketed her Isuzu Trooper over the Curtis Road/I-184 overpass with such aplomb, we wish we could have been in the car just to say, "Toonces, LOOK OUT!" (Also helping this joke: Murray lived.)
According to a Boise Police Department release, officers found the SUV blocking westbound traffic on the connector late last Thursday, with the driver nowhere to be found. They surmised that whoever was behind the wheel had been heading southbound on Curtis from Fairview Avenue, busted through the guard rail, gotten injured and then high-tailed it away from the scene of the crime. It didn't take long for officers to locate Murray, who they say was the driver and sole occupant of the car, at a Boise residence. She has been charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and possession of drug paraphernalia. Interestingly, she was picked up just around 11 p.m., not long after the conclusion of the Thursday night 9 p.m. re-run of SNL on the E! network. Coincidence? We think not.
