Know Your Snow

Not a big skier or snowboarder but still like to hang out in the white stuff? The Bogus Basin and Boise National Forest series of Winter Discovery interpretive programs may be just the thing for you. Representatives from the Boise National Forest will host programs in safe and friendly terrain and will cover topics like wildlife, winter ecology and other forest themes. Programs last one to two hours, are free and no preregistration is necessary. However, you must have a current ski or snowshoe pass. If you are not a season pass holder, half-day snowshoe trail passes are available for only $3 and you can rent snowshoes at the Frontier Point lodge or at ski and snowboard shops in town. Call 332-5390 or 373-4100 for more information.
