Local artist designs national award

Irene Deely, metal sculptor and owner of the Woman of Steel Gallery, has been chosen to design awards for those involved with childhood drinking prevention programs.

The awards will be given periodically in recognition of outstanding citizens who support the Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free Foundation. The first award will be a sculpture by Deely titled "Eagle Study No. 9." This particular piece was chosen as it symbolically represents leadership strengths.

Deely is a sculptor specializing in bronze and steel and the owner of the Woman of Steel Gallery, at 3460 Chinden, since 2002. For more information, contact Deely at 331-5632 or visit www.ideely.com.
