An Interior Department spending bill was approved by a Senate panel that includes more than $11 million for projects requested by Sen. Larry Craig, including $3 million for wildlife conservation, $2 million for forest conservation and $1 million to purchase mining claims in the Frank Church wilderness. Sage grouse will get $200,000 to improve their habitat to stave off its listing on the Endangered Species Act but an Idaho animal already on the list, the gray wolf, will see no increase in its budget.
