More on the Volunteer Front

If volunteering in the wilderness isn't your thing but you'd still like to give your time to something outdoors, Boise Parks and Recreation is seeking a few good volunteers. Last year's volunteers helped to refurbish park benches, prune trees around the city, care for animals at Zoo Boise, tend flowers in the Julia Davis Rose Garden and build an amphitheater for the Foothills Learning Center. Boise Parks and Recreation estimates volunteers save the department nearly a half-million dollars each year.

A variety of volunteer positions are available, from Earth Day festivities and the Boise Riversweep to Eagle Scout projects and trail building.
