The Linen District had been touted as Boise's up-and-coming arts district. The opening of the Visual Arts Collective, the Linen District's first gallery, earlier this month should help cement that.
The new VaC space is the culmination of the creative energy of four locals-- Christophe Guigon, Corrin M. Olson, Anneliessa Balk Stimpert and Samuel F. Stimpert--involved in the arts, with the aim of supporting established and emerging artists, to offer a large and open space to show and to share a vision of artistic appreciation and enthusiasm with the community.
The VaC has nearly 4,000 square feet of exhibit space. The gallery won't be limited to just visual art, but its creators also plan to feature live music.
The opening exhibit featured visual art from Flint Weisser, Angela Katona-Batchelor, VaC founding members Samuel F. Stimpert and Corrin M. Olson and Francis Fox.
