Coeur d'Alene police had to use a taser to apprehend a suspect in a series of shootings June 21 that left two homes damaged by gunfire.

Police were summoned to the Hawks Nest and Coeur d'Alene Place subdivisions in the early morning hours Tuesday. That's where residents told police they were home at the time of the shootings and one person was nearly hit by bullets.

KREM-TV reports that a short time later, police located the suspected shooter, Travis Duff, 28, of Coeur d'Alene. While Duff reportedly dropped his gun, he would not move away from the weapon when ordered to do so. Police then used a taser to take Duff into custody.

Duff is charged with two felony counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied building.
