Note October 22, 2008

Ray Ring of High Country News heads to Rexburg in this week's main feature for a look at Idahoans who've decided to roll up their sleeves and get involved in California politics in order to put a stop to gay marriage in the Golden State. In a nation that prides itself for freedom, it doesn't add up that we so blatantly deny the freedom of one subset of the American population. Even more puzzling is that another subset, which has survived only after being severely persecuted in the past, tasks itself with fueling the discrimination.
