Fall Cooking Classes

Whether you're preparing for holiday entertaining or just want to brush up on your skills and learn some new tricks, a variety of classes are offered throughout Boise. Many of the classes are taught by chefs from favorite local restaurants and several classes are even available for kids. Classes until mid-November are as follows:

The Basque Market

Classes begin at 6 p.m. at The Basque Market, 608 W. Grove St., 433-1208, www.thebasquemarket.com.

Idiazabal Potatoes Gratin and Roast Solomo--October 13, $20-$30.

Epi's Crab Cakes--November 7, $20-$30.

Roast Leg of Lamb--November 17, $20-$30.

Chef Shoppe

Cooking Wheat and Gluten Free--October 17, 7 p.m., $20.

Harvest Feast--October 19, 7 p.m., $35.

Stollen Bread--October 22, 11 a.m., $10.

All About Chicken--October 24, 7 p.m., $35.

Restaurant Techniques for Fabulous Seafood--October 26, 7 p.m., $35.

Cinnamon Rolls--October 27, 11 a.m., $10.

Chili with Class--November 3, 7 p.m.

Dinner Rolls--November 5, 11 a.m., $10.

Thanksgiving Alternatives--November 7, 7 p.m., $40.

Eating Well with Diabetes: Downsized Holiday Desserts--November 10, 7 p.m., $60.

Inspired by Chocolate--November 14, 7 p.m., $10.

Kandor

All classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and participants should plan to stay about three hours. You can pre-register for classes by calling Kandor, stopping into the store, or returning the class registration form by mail or fax. The Basics Series: The Oven--November 9, $45.

Kandor also offers private classes for you and a group of your friends. Whether you want Sunday brunch with the family, lunch with co-workers or dinner with your closest friends, Kandor will create a cooking party specifically for your group. A minimum of 10 people are required for a private class, and price depends on the menu as well as the number of people in your group. Call Class Director Laurie Dunbar for more information.
