Overcoming the Doldrums

I have overcome my doldrums of last week, thanks to those readers who gave me some feedback. Otherwise, I would still be in a funk. My schizophrenic life with one week on/one week off being Mom might be root of the problem. But I suppose I will figure it out someday. But other things are bugging me. There is Bush's planned domestic eavesdropping program. I really don't want the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on my phone calls and e-mails. There is the fact that the Commerce Department has lost over 1,100 computers since 2001. Some of these have personal Census Bureau data. I know if I operated my business like that, I would not have one. And let us not overlook the always interesting electioneering phenomena like dropping gas prices that will continue to do so until election time. I guess I'm not a big believer in coincidence. On a brighter note, my favorite time of year at Boise Weekly is here. This Best Of Boise will be the best and biggest ever. Thanks to all the almost 700 readers who voted both online and submitted ballots. All of our writers have worked hard to provide an engaging, insightful and entertaining read. Enjoy and let me know what you think while it is fresh. We start planning now for next year.
