In the shadow of an alleged sexual assault on a student
in the Lincoln County town of Dietrich, school officials have now sent a letter to parents of students addressing the alleged incident.
This morning's Twin Falls Times News reports
the letter confirms three Dietrich High School football players are accused of raping a student with a foreign object after a football practice on Oct. 15.
"There will likely be police interviews with some high school students. We do not know with whom [police] will wish to speak, but we are working with them to try to minimize disruption to the school and ensure parent notification and involvement in the interview process," read the letter.
Meanwhile the Lincoln County prosecutor's office has turned the investigation and any possible prosecution over to the office of the Idaho attorney general.
Two students were expelled by the Dietrich School District board of trustees during a Nov. 3 meeting, but officials would not comment on whether the expulsions were connected to the incident, according to the Times News
