Post-Holiday Music, Dec. 26-27, Various locations

The nice thing about Christmas falling on a Thursday is that by the time presents are opened, the ham and tofurkey are polished off and the gift-wrapping has been neatly folded and put in the recycle bin, you may be one of the lucky ones who has three more days off. The not-so-nice thing is that you may also have three more days with a house full of people who expect to be entertained. Show them what your hometown has to offer—and get them off your back—with a night of live, local music.

The venues around town have anticipated your need to have a place to unwind and are offering such a selection of music, it was impossible to list it all in this space. A few of note are m[t]theory's third annual breakdance competition on Friday with a performance by Eleven; the Dimebag Darrell tribute at Knitting Factory featuring Frantik, Final Underground, Black Tooth Grin, Kryterium and Yexotay on Saturday; The Shitty Osmonds, El Dopamine and Tuck Nelson on Friday; RevoltRevolt, The Universal, Blacksmith and Juntura on Saturday at VAC; and what promises to be a very cool event for those of you who've been around awhile: a Remember the Crazy Horse party on Saturday at Terrapin Station with Freak in a Jar, Adversives, El Dopamine (Two nights of El D? Glory be.), Haggis, Life After Johnny and Citizen Angst.
