After a terrible 2011 accident in a Nampa crosswalk left a young girl quadriplegic, the girl's mother filed a lawsuit against the city, claiming it was negligent for not thoroughly marking the crosswalk.

This morning's Idaho Press-Tribune reports a Canyon County jury on Dec. 9 decided the city of Nampa was not liable for the accident. The Press-Tribune reports a three-day trial resulted in a verdict in the city's favor.

The driver of the vehicle in the accident at the intersection of Chicago Street and Greenhurst Road was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of inattentive or careless driving and sentenced to community service.
