The Boise State University Broncos took advantage of the Ragin' Cajuns' Southern hospitality Sept. 3, serving up a 45-10 beatdown at Louisiana Lafayette—Boise State's first season-opening road win since 2000.
Broncos fans had to tune in via ESPN 3 and internet-only service to watch Saturday morning's game, but Treasure Valley sports bars took full advantage of the 10 a.m. kickoff by streaming the broadcast on their big screens while dishing out breakfast.
Second-string offense and defense players saw their share of snaps late in the game as Boise State's starting squad took a breather from the already oppressive humidity.

As soon as the Broncos get home, they'll hit the ground running as they prepare for their Saturday, Sept. 10 home-opener against the Washington State Cougars. The Cougars won't be in a pleasant mood; they lost to Eastern Washington University Saturday night 45-42.
Getting to Albertsons Stadium on the Boise State campus will soon be a lot easier, as Idaho Transportation Department officials announced the long-awaited reopening of the Broadway Bridge is set for Friday, Sept. 9—just in time for the game.
ITD officials said all lanes of the rebuilt span will be open by 1 p.m. Friday as will all lanes of Front and Myrtle streets and the Boise Greenbelt just below the bridge. The $20 million facelift expands the bridge to six lanes of traffic, and features new bicycle lanes and 10-foot-wide sidewalks.
