Shealy Seeks Re-Election

After months of consideration, Boise City Council Member Alan Shealy announced he will run for re-election.

Shealy filed his paperwork allowing him to collect and spend campaign funds last week, ending speculation over whether he would run for the Council, the U.S. Senate or not at all.

"It's a complicated decision process," Shealy said.

The decision came down to whether he wanted to take on the challenge of a Senate run. "That's not a marathon I wanted to run right now," he said. "I feel I can be more effective in my own back yard."

Shealy said he's looking forward to the challenges another four years in office might offer. "It's going to be an interesting four years," he said. "I hope the people of Boise give me another chance."
