U.S. Attorney Thomas Moss filed charges last week against Tamarack Resort, charcing the resort with building trails on nearby Payette National Forest land without obtaining the necessary permission. According to court documents, the suit focuses on two trails, one of which is a groomed Nordic ski trail, that were constructed in late April. The maximum penalties for the crimes are up to five years probation and another five digits worth of fines.
So much for that White Cloud half-pipe and Frank Church Wilderness Terrain Park we were hoping for. Legal proceedings are scheduled to begin March 1 of next year.
