If that turns out to be true, the five-man band went out on a high note. The group's rumbling bass, cool-jazz keyboard lines, steady drums and pleasantly rough vocals handled swaggering blues-rock, country swing and shuffling funk with equal ease.
The real spotlight-stealer, though, was Ned Evett, who made his fretless guitar yowl, moan and squeal.
