Troy Passey

Ink, Acrylic on Papers

I often make a note of observations and scraps of conversations I have overheard. I love the poetry of the plain spoken. Words as “found objects” become the basis for my artwork. I spend a lot of time engaged in the rote repetition of text. Gradually, the tedium becomes meditative. While I aim to create visually calming compositions, I also feel compelled to acknowledge starker aspects of life: loss, damage, longing.
