Two men are behind bars for the armed theft of a Boise taxicab—one day after another cab was stolen.

Boise Police report that a few minutes before midnight, a driver reported that his cab had been stolen on the 1300 block of North Milwuakeee Street. The victim told officers that he was force to surrender his wallet at gunpoint and then ordered to drive to Kuna, where the driver was let go and the suspects took off in the cab.

A short time later, police spotted the stolen cab in Downtown Boise and gave chase. According to law enforcement, the suspects rammed several police vehicles as they tried to escape south on Ninth Street. Eventually, police were able to box in the suspects and force them to surrender on South Capitol Boulevard near the train depot at approximately 12:20 a.m.

Dustin Meuser, 20, and Justin Cosner, 25, were each charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. Meuser was also charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and eluding a police officer. Cosner was also charged with grand theft.

The incident comes one day after an ABC taxi was also reported stolen at gunpoint. Boise Police say they haven't determined if the two thefts are related.
