Idaho got pulled into Washington, D.C.'s so-called "nerd prom" Saturday night. Better known as the White House Correspondents' Dinner—a bizarre mash-up of celebrities, politicos, pundits and the POTUS—featured Saturday Night Live's Cecily Strong as the featured attraction. Strong was the fourth woman to perform at the event, following Paula Poundstone in 1992, Elayne Boosler in 1993 and Wanda Sykes in 2009.
While Strong targeted Hillary Clinton, CNN and Fox News, she also had a zinger for one particular member of the Idaho Legislature:
"Idaho [House] Representative Vito Barbieri recently asked if gynecological exams could be conducted by a woman swallowing a camera. But they can't. And now Vito and his wife have ruined a perfectly good Go-Pro."
And here are a couple of Strong's other jokes:
"Fox News has been losing a lot of viewers lately, and may they rest in peace."
"Whenever a big news story breaks, I can turn to CNN and watch Anthony Bourdain eat a cricket."
"Our relationship [with Israel] will be better in the next administration, just as soon as Israel makes a generous donation to the Clinton Foundation."
Several pieces of the plaza are still being prepped for full operation, however, including the Main Street Station multi-modal transit center, which is set to begin bus service the morning of Monday, Oct. 24.
