Dragonfly (2002)

Part Mothman Prophecies, part Field of Dreams (after all, this is Kevin Costner dealing with a ghostly family member), Dragonfly is a gorgeous drama masquerading as a suspense film.

After Chicago emergency-room physician Joe Darrow's (Costner) wife dies while evacuating a South American village, he finds himself unable to properly grieve, especially since his wife's spirit seems desperate to send him a message—and Darrow must uncover what it is before he fully descends into madness.

A few frightening scenes might scare off the feint of heart, but an interesting script, colorful supporting characters and a fulfilling conclusion make this film an underpublicized gem.
